The Differences of Yoga Pilates Zumba

In the past, sports were limited to running, cycling, soccer, or aerobics; now many types of sports can be the choice of today’s generation.

Well, among the many types of sports available, yoga, pilates, and Zumba are three types of sports that are much loved.

Derived from the word ‘yuj’ in Sanskrit which means to unite oneself or focus the whole mind to control the five senses.

At that time, yoga was part of a tradition of meditation and rituals with various physical movements in Hindu society in India.

Until now, yoga has developed into a type of physical activity that focuses on concentration and breathing.

Pilates, on the other hand, is a contemporary version of yoga.

Pilates was developed around the 20th century by an athlete, Joseph Pilates, in Germany.

He created a series of physical exercises as a form of rehabilitation and strengthening, with a focus on postural core muscle control.

Pilates exercise is almost similar to yoga.

The difference is, these exercises tend to have a physical approach that combines coordination, flexibility, and tone.

The goal is for the muscles to be lean and strong.

It practice challenges the strength of the core muscles of the body such as the back and spine muscles, arms, hips, inner thighs, and abs.

Pilates can correct imbalanced posture and train body movements to be more efficient, thereby reducing the risk of injury.

It movements are indeed more complicated than yoga at first because the movements must be correct and cannot be arbitrary.

This more contemporary workout than aerobics is a fun method of staying fit and healthy.
