Do’s and Don’ts for Oily Skin

Someone who has this skin type should be extra when doing facial care. Because, if the treatment is not done properly, facial skin looks dull and prone to acne.

There are some things to recommend do and don’t do when treating oily skin. Check it out, if you’ve done these do and don’ts correctly.

5 Do’s and Don’ts for Oily Skin

For Healthier Oily Facial Skin

1. Cleaning the face is a routine that oily skin owners should do.

Do’s:

Wash your face regularly, at least twice a day – morning and night before going to bed. Use a facial cleanser that is soap-free and has a balanced pH so that the pores open and doesn’t clog pimples.

Don’ts:

Don’t wash your face too often, as this can strip your skin of natural oils. You are also not advised to use the same facial cleanser for years. Because skin conditions will generally change every weather or season.

2. The use of toner must also be considered. You can’t use any of your products!

Do’s:

Because it functions to refresh the face, the toner you choose should not be arbitrary. Use a toner that contains natural ingredients such as witch hazel or aloe vera so that your face doesn’t erode.

Don’ts:

It is not recommended to use a toner with harsh ingredients. If you often use an exfoliating toner, it’s best to use a hydrating toner afterward. Make sure you use products that are safe and don’t mix skincare ingredients that cause an allergic reaction afterward.

3. Owners of oily skin still need a moisturizer!

Do’s:

Use a non-comedogenic, water-based moisturizer. Skin experts often recommend oily skin owners to use a moisturizer that contains glycerin and sodium hyaluronate because it can keep the face’s natural moisture.

Don’ts:

Avoid using moisturizers that tend to be heavy in texture, usually in the form of cream. If used, this can clog the pores of the face and cause acne.

4. Also pay attention to the skincare or make-up that is applied to the T-zone area.

Do’s:

Because this area has more sebaceous (oil-producing) glands than others, pay attention when applying heavy skincare, such as serum, for example. For the T-zone area, it is preferable to use liquid-based skincare, because it can reduce oil and prevent acne.

Don’ts:

The sebaceous glands will experience an overreaction when applied skincare that contains sodium or ammonium lauryl sulfate and alcohol. The oil can be lost, but this makes the skin in the T-zone area dry and flaky.

5. Outside the product, there are habits that oily skin owners should do.

Do’s:

Changing bed linen and pillowcases is a mandatory routine that must be done at least once every two weeks. Dirt on this cloth can accumulate oil on the face which can cause acne.

Don’ts:

Never squeeze a pimple on your face. When you squeeze the pimple, the blood and pus in it will spread to the skin. This can lead to more widespread infection. The print marks will also leave marks and are difficult to remove!

Maybe some of you already know a lot about these prohibitions and recommendations. But, unfortunately not everything is practiced. If you want healthier oily facial skin, you have to obey the do’s and don’ts above.
